    This program is designed for those with no previous Climbing experience and those
     wishing to review basic rock techniques.
 
 -     Introduction to equipment: design, care, use and selection
 -     Introduction to anchors and belays
 -     Development of full repertoire of free climbing technique for moderate ground
 -     Rappelling
 
            Level 2: Intermediate Rock                                   50 Euro/pax; for 4 days
 
 -     Personal and protective systems equipment: design and selection
 -     Review of fundamental free climbing techniques
 -     Efficient body, hand and foot placements for face & crack climbing
 -     Rope Management & protective system techniques
 -     Skillful placements of protection
 -     Learning to lead: leading skills and judgments on fifth-class ground, at a 
      technical
      level appropriate to each individual
 -    For those with an indoor training background, additional time will be spent on
      hazard assessment, rope management, Placement of protection, establishment of 
      anchors, crack climbing skills & rappelling

 -     Belaying techniques on snow & ice
 -     Climbing techniques on low & high angle snow & ice

 -     Principles of glacier travel, glacial structure & reading glaciers
 -     Route finding: identifying and assessing objective hazards

           Level 2, Climbing Skills:
 
 -     Design concepts, performance & selection of ice axes & technical tools
 -     Proper choice between & application of the primary ice axe positions: piolet
       canne, panne, manche, & traction
 -     Choice between & application of American, French & German cramponing
       techniques
 -     Belaying techniques on snow & ice
 -     The concept & application of the self belay
 -     Self arrest
 -     Selection of ice screws, & deadmen for belays & intermediate protection
 -     Free climbing technique on very steep ice
 -     The use of prusiks
 -     Crevasse resque techniques
 
  General Knowledge:

  General Knowledge:
